Production Supervisor

Coordinate day to day activities to maintain scheduled production requirements. This position may have rotational responsibility for Assembly, Press Shop, and Fabrication departments.


  • Ensure that employees are properly trained in the areas of equipment operation, quality, safety, and 5S.
  • Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
  • Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A minimum of one to three years of experience in a medium/high volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, as well as a basic understanding of die set-up and maintenance.
  • Prefer previous Assembly line supervision experience in a union environment.
?Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess a basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban and Lean manufacturing.
  • Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Basic problem solving and troubleshooting ability, along with proven leadership capabilities.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to provide direction and supervision in a team environment.

  • Qualified candidates should possess a two-year Associate's Degree or equivalent experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
Physical Requirements

  • Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
